Reconstructing the Epistemology of Islamic Education Based on Prophetic Revelation

This study aims to reconstruct the epistemology of Islamic education by positioning prophetic revelation as a source of knowledge and explaining its implications for curriculum, learning, and assessment. It employs a qualitative library research approach. The sources include the Qur’an, hadith, and literature on Islamic epistemology, Islamization of knowledge, and the integration of religion and science. The materials are analyzed thematically to formulate a conceptual framework connecting revelation, reason, and the senses. The findings suggest that these three sources can complement one another: revelation provides normative meaning and values, reason supports inference and analysis, and the senses provide empirical data to be examined through scientific methods. This framework has implications for curricula that integrate religious texts and contemporary knowledge, active and contextual learning, and assessment that considers faith, knowledge, and character. The article offers an initial conceptual model that requires further examination through empirical research.
